Our February Unit Meetings will focus on organized trash collection. Three speakers from the community will answer questions about this issue from their own perspectives.
Rep. Mindy Greiling is authoring a bill to address problems with local decision making when cities consider the change from open trash collection to organized trash collection.
Tim Pratt is the recycling coordinator for the city of Roseville. He has been developing information on the issue for the Roseville public works, environment, and transportation commission.
John Nephew is a former Maplewood city council member. He led the recent effort to institute organized trash collection in Maplewood that, by one estimate, will save Maplewood resident more than $1 million per year in trash collection charges.
